After consultation between the safety cell of the city and the provincial government, it has been decided that no more than 3000 visitors are allowed in De Ster. Visitors also noted in recent days that the safety measures were not always adhered to. As of today, it is also mandatory to wear a mouth mask, except when swimming. Last Friday, when it was also very hot, 4,000 people came to the domain.
As soon as the number of 3,000 visitors has been reached, the parking lots on Lange Rekstraat and Vossekotstraat will close. Additional parking attendants and security people are deployed for this. People who have already parked or are at the checkout may still enter. De Lijn was then asked not to let any more buses leave for De Ster. The local police will regularly check at the cash registers and at the bus stop.
The intention was to allow the maximum number of visitors to take effect from today, but yesterday at 4.30 pm it already appeared necessary to close the entrance gate to De Ster.
