The sickness benefit system is in deficit of 13 billion, the most in three decades

The Czech health insurance system, from which sickness, nursing or maternity benefits are paid, reached a deficit of 13 billion crowns. This is the largest deficit of the system since the beginning of its operation in 1993. It follows from the data of the Ministry of Labor and the Czech Social Security Administration (CSSA). The main reason is the coronavirus epidemic and the current crisis.
