the shooting of season 3 postponed

To avoid any complications related to the Covid-19 epidemic, TF1 preferred to postpone the recording of new episodes of its successful entertainment by several months.

Containment, not confinement? While France is hanging on to the next government announcements, some did not wait to know if the health instructions would be strengthened to make decisions. This is the case with “Mask Singer”. Indeed, according to our colleagues from Parisian, the filming of season 3 of TF1’s entertainment, presented by Camille Combal, has been postponed for several months.

Initially scheduled for February-March, the recording of the new episodes should only take place in May-June for a broadcast at the start of the school year. “’Mask Singer’ is a big barnum that requires three weeks of production. With a strict sanitary protocol. And given the planned hardening, as in Germany, we preferred not to take any risks ”, confided an employee of the program.

And this, at the risk that the personalities, who had agreed to participate, are no longer available at that time. Because the constitution of the cast began long before the launch of season 2 of “Mask Singer”. “We are already working on the continuation (…) if only for the casting because many personalities have agendas which are ready a year in advance”, declared, last October, Anthony Meunier, general manager of Hervé Hubert Production to “La lettre de l’Audiovisuel”. TF1 will therefore have to review its schedule.

After a first season acclaimed by viewers, the entertainment had seen its audiences weaken somewhat from Friday to Saturday. Indeed, season 2, won by Larusso, had gathered an average of 4.9 million people, or 22.8% audience share, against 5.2 million viewers, or 26.5% of PDAs, for the first edition, won by Laurence Boccolini.
