The Seville taxi calls mobilizations on December 16
The Elite Taxi Sevilla association has called mobilizations in the local taxi sector for the 16th of this month, given the “lack of sensitivity” of the Seville City Council,
Taxi drivers demand direct municipal aid to taxi professionals in the face of the new crisis derived from the pandemic, and a “definitive” regulation for the Transport Vehicles with Driver (VTC) that work for the companies Uber and Cabify.
The association exposes its various procedures before the City Council in demand of such claims and others such as the elimination of the stop reservation fee in 2021, since in this context “it is meaningless, warning that despite this it has not obtained” concretion »None from the municipal authorities nor has the governing council of the Municipal Taxi Institute been summoned to deal with these and other demands of the association on behalf of the sector.
Therefore, given the “lack of sensitivity” of the Consistory, the entity has decided to call “mobilizations” in the local taxi sector for the 16th of this month.
In a framework in which the schedule of mandatory breaks is adjusted so that each day only 33 percent of the taxi drivers in Seville are exempted from such breaks, given the fall in demand for the service as a result of the pandemic and the restrictions implemented against the same.
