About 70% of Della Orrey’s wardrobe is made up of second-hand clothes.

“I love shopping in thrift stores and discovering new pieces. There is a story behind every song, ”she says.

Her wardrobe is also stocked with pieces inherited from her grandmother.

“She died in 2019,” she says. I grew up admiring his iconic style and now I reinterpret certain timeless pieces in my own way. ”

A question of values

For her, shopping in thrift stores is a creative pleasure as much as a refusal to participate in the devastating impacts of the fast fashion.

“The waste generated by fast fashion are really bad. The clothes do not deteriorate and are just abandoned in third world countries ”, deplores Della.

Arriving in Montreal in May, the 30-year-old woman is a globetrotter who has lived in different cities around the world.

“People have incredible vintage flair in Montreal’s creative community.”

She can’t wait to discover the thrift stores and vintage boutiques of the city.
