A few days ago, another legend of Czech cinema left us. Ladislav Potměšil was one of the most popular actors in our country and the whole nation mourns his loss. However, the actor’s condition was very serious, he lost his hearing before his death and his doctors burned his vocal cords during irradiation during cancer treatment.
Ladislav Potměšil played hundreds of roles during his career, but most of all he entered the hearts of viewers as the father of Disco Story and Major Maisner in the trilogy He Was Once a Cop.
Unfortunately, in recent years, the actors have suffered from serious health problems, due to which he had to end his acting career.
Potměšil fought the insidious bone cancer until the last moment and believed that he would defeat it. Unfortunately, his body gradually ceased service. At first, the famous actor lost his hearing and before his death even lost his famous voice, with whom he spoke countless different characters in dubbing studios.
