The rules for tickets are changing, many airlines allow free changes – ČT24 – Czech Television

“Changes to free dates were previously only possible for more expensive tariffs. Today, flexible rules for handling tickets are becoming more common and apply to tickets for the flights of most airlines, “said the director of the portal, Josef Trejbal.

Carriers that have introduced the new rule include, for example, Czech Airlines, Smartwings, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Air France-KLM, Qatar Airways, Emirates, British Airways and others.

Customers are waiting to buy a ticket

Ticket sales in recent weeks and months have been significantly affected by the coronavirus crisis. In addition to the decline in demand, customer habits are also changing. They are now waiting longer for the situation to develop with the purchase of a ticket.

According to the Student Agency, the average time between purchase and departure in the summer in August was reduced by 47 percent to 23 days. One-way tickets, which are most often used by Czechs returning to their homeland due to epidemiological developments, are also sold more.

Czechs travel more in Europe than in the world

Compared to the past, Czechs also travel more in Europe at the expense of long-distance destinations. Due to this, the average price of a ticket also dropped, by 3,000 at Letuška.cz to approximately 6,120 crowns.

During the spring coronavirus crisis, the vast majority of flights were canceled. However, many passengers are still waiting for refunds. Airlines are currently dealing with millions of refund requests or at least flight schedule changes. Returns can also delay the problems of some airlines, which lack money for it.
