The prefect invites the inhabitants of the Rhône not to move outside the department so as not to spread the virus. He recalls that “the Rhône remains on borrowed time”.

DIY stores and Galeries Lafayette in Bron will close their doors.

“The situation of the Rhône is serious but under control, estimates the prefect. It does not justify the closing of the quays.” The president of the Metropolis, Bruno Bernard, did not want it.

“If the situation deteriorates, I will propose more restrictive measures to the president of the Metropolis and to the mayor of Lyon”, continues the prefect.

“The curfew, barrier gestures and vaccination probably explain that the epidemic does not explode,” said Jean-Yves Grall.

“The Rhône was the first department to impose the wearing of a mask everywhere”, underlines the prefect.

Rector Olivier Dugrip gives some figures: teaching was suspended in 21 classes, yesterday Thursday, in the Rhône.

As of March 4, 16,886 screening tests had been performed for a positivity rate of 0.4 in the academy, with the tests of the Region.

Saliva tests are deployed in schools. Students can spit at home and take the tube back to school.

Tests will be carried out every two weeks in 12 schools in the academy to study the circulation of the virus. This is done at the request of the ministry, with Professor Bruno Lina.

The doctor Jean-Yves Grall expresses himself. “The epidemiological situation is not exploding,” he explains.

“The outlook shows a tripling of vaccine endowments in April.”

The Rhône will receive 6,000 additional doses this Friday and 3,600 Tuesday or Wednesday. To date, the department has received 201,000 doses.

Seven vaccination centers will be open in the Lyon metropolitan area this weekend, including five all weekend (the 4 HCL centers and that of Villefranche), those of Tarare and Gerland will be open Saturday only.

The vaccination capacities of HCLs will be multiplied by 3 next week.

Screening operations will be organized this weekend in the centers of Tête-d’Or, Gerland, Villeurbanne and Villefranche.

So far, the Rhône and the Lyon Metropolis have escaped containment on weekends, the incidence rate reaching 242 / 100,000 in the Metropolis while the Prime Minister has placed the alert threshold at 250 contaminations per 100,000 inhabitants .

But the prefects were invited to “do everything possible to avoid gatherings”, as we have seen in some cities such as Paris or Toulouse. And retail spaces of more than 10,000 m2 have to close their doors. Certain DIY stores like Leroy Merlin, Castorama should be concerned. Two thirds of French shopping centers will be closed from this Friday evening.

Residents have also been called on to stay in their department of residence to limit the spread of the virus.
