The renovated River Plate stadium will be bigger than the Maracana

The Buenos Aires club, which holds a record 37 Argentine titles, will open the rebuilt arena in mid-2024.

During the renovations, River Plate’s management decided to allow fans to get a memento of the old stadium and put more than 40,000 wooden seats up for sale. “Priority will be given to those who have been lucky enough to experience many beautiful moments in those places, so they will have a memory and be able to tell their grandchildren what they have witnessed,” club boss Jorge Brito said earlier.
