Today, on May 27, 2022, when the concert of the renovated concert garden “Pūt, vējiņi” will take place, Liepaja residents will pay attention to another special place – the club “Kursa”, where the continuation of the opening concert event is expected. Musician Ivo Fomins shares his memories of a popular concert venue in Liepaja – the club “Kursa”: “” Kursa “was my home in my youth when I started my musical career. Event in the club “Kursa” and the concert garden “Pūt, vējiņi!” the rebirth will not only be a view of the past, but also a view of the future. Concert garden manager Irita Kalēja talks about the upcoming season and future plans. The summer program is very crowded.
“All spring we have walked around an empty stage, with an empty parterre area without chairs, a strange feeling – how and what will happen. “We have all been really looking forward to it. Summer is planned, all Fridays and Saturdays, and some working days are busy with concerts,” explains Blacksmith.
Although before the upcoming opening concert sounded reproaches for the technical solutions of the concert stage “Pūt, vējiņi”, all negations are now set aside, the searchlights are on and the music is playing. Uldis Marhilevičs admits: “Now the second day on stage, my heart is starting to calm down, the main thing is the spirit of Liepaja music.”
The concert performance will be performed on May 27 at 20.00. Composer, pianist and Latvian favorite musician Uldis Marhilēvičs, producer and director Viktors Runtulis, multimedia artist Artis Dzērve, sound director Normunds Slava and event organizer, producer, singer and poet Maija Kalni will unite in creating a significant musical event.
The opening ceremony of the concert will continue from 22.00 in the popular club “Kursa” (Zvejnieku aleja 11). During the evening, Uldis Marhilevičs, Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Ainars Virga, “The Hobos” & Ralfs Eilands, “Carnival Youth” and a number of other musicians will take the stage, as well as vinyl masters – DJ Roberts Gobziņš and DJ Eduards Švāns.
