Up to seven-seater compact SUVs have received new mildhybrid engines, sophisticated Pivi infotainment, improved assistance systems and a Black Special Edition with up to 290 horsepower.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport received a plug-in hybrid engine called the P300e in the first half of this year, which will soon be complemented by two more economical and environmentally friendly mildhybrid powertrains.
We are talking about diesel four-cylinder engines marked D165 (approx. 163 hp) and D200 (approx. 204 hp) with Land Rover mildhybrid system technology in combination with all-wheel drive and a battery, in which the energy obtained during braking is stored. Customers can look forward to consumption from 6.3 l / 100 km, CO emissions2 starting at 165 g / km and an even smoother operation of the stop-start system.

A novelty among petrol engines is the supercharged four-cylinder Ingenium with an output of 290 hp, which was introduced through the Discovery Sport Black Special Edition model. In addition to the powerful engine, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.4 seconds, the novelty also offers a number of unique design elements in the interior and exterior.
The biggest innovation in the interior is the state-of-the-art Pivi multimedia system, which offers an improved digital environment for the car. For example, the system offers Stand-by mode in combination with its own battery, making it available immediately after switching on. Of course, there is also the function of wireless updates via a free data connection.

Connectivity will also come in handy when playing music from the Spotify app, which is integrated directly into the infotainment and the data is included in the price of the car. There is also Bluetooth connectivity for two devices, wireless chargers with signal amplification function or the second generation of the Smart Activity Key, which automatically unlocks the car in your presence.
The system works on a new electrical architecture and, in addition to the above-mentioned benefits in the form of connectivity, will also save customers travel to services. The system will be available in the Pivi version from the S equipment, for a more advanced version the Pivi Pro version is ready.

However, innovations also appear in the ventilation system, which is also touch-controlled. This is primarily the Cabin Air Filtration (CAF) system, which is able to filter out harmful particles that often occur in cities and congested areas. The CAF function builds on the long-used Cabin Air Ionization system, which is able to capture allergens, strong odors and ultra-fine particles (even smaller than PM2.5).
Passengers do not have to deal with anything – just activate the Purify mode, in which the system begins to filter and monitor the air quality in the cabin (including comparison with the outside air). In addition, the touch screen provides visual assurance that the air in the cab is cleaner than the air around the car.

The icing on the cake are minor adjustments to the assistance systems and technologies. A novelty is, for example, the Rear Collision Monitor, which uses rear radar sensors to constantly monitor what is happening behind the car. In the event of an imminent accident, the car is then ready for impact and better protects the crew.
The 3D Surround Camera system offers the driver the ability to monitor the surroundings of the car at a speed of 30 km / h, while ClaerSight Ground view offers a view through the hood of what is happening under the front axle and ClearSight Rear view replaces the rearview mirror with the image taken from the roof camera.

The modernization therefore focused mainly on engines and technologies, otherwise the Land Rover Discovery Sport remains a practical family SUV, which offers a 5 + 2 interior layout, rear seats divided in a ratio of 40:20:40 and a total of 24 possible seat configurations.
The preliminary price of the rejuvenated Land Rover Discovery Sport model on the Czech market starts at CZK 1,048,828. Customers can choose between Discovery Sport S, SE, HSE, R-Dynamic SE, R-Dynamic HSE and Discovery Sport Black.
