In the Russian regions, it is still considered premature to discuss unscheduled vacations for schoolchildren due to the situation with coronavirus infection.
On September 29, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that the autumn school holidays will last two weeks instead of one. The reason for the extension, he called the deteriorating situation with COVID-19 in the capital.
As RBC Bashkortostan was informed by the Ministry of Education of Bashkortostan, there are no plans for an early vacation in the republic. However, the department noted that the epidemiological situation is changing daily. The regional government will discuss the situation in schools on October 1.
According to Pavel Krekov, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, the authorities are not going to introduce additional school holidays. “If we have a 15–20% increase in the incidence, then in Moscow it has increased several times over the past few days. At the same time, the number of severe cases of coronavirus infection has not increased in our country, ”Krekov explained to RBK Yekaterinburg.
