FORT WORTH, Texas- The American Red Cross confirmed that it is currently assisting 10 families after their homes were affected in a fire in Fort Worth on Friday night.

The Fort Worth fire department said the fire occurred in the 5000 block of Ridglea Lane in the west portion of the complex. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters reported strong flames rising from the two-story complex. More than 25 firefighters worked to control the fire.

Authorities confirmed that only one person was injured due to smoke inhalation.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross says it is assisting families to receive access to water, food and accommodations. They also ask that anyone affected by a fire call 1-800-RED CROSS.
