As it stands now, all beds in the intensive care wards will be full by the end of next week. But whoever is allowed to leave that service is only starting the larger rehabilitation process. More than half of the patients can suffer from physical, cognitive and psychological problems for a long time after being admitted to the intensive care unit for a serious problem. This is shown in a new study by the Federal Knowledge Center for Healthcare (KCE). “Even after one year of rehabilitation, some are still not functioning as well as before.”
