The Real Club Náutico de A Coruña raises the blue flag | Radio Coruña

He Royal Nautical Club of A Coruña has raised this morning the Blue flag that grants the Environmental and Consumer Education Association to the beaches, marinas and trails managed with criteria of quality and environmental sustainability. In total, six ports in the province of A Coruña enjoy this distinction.

The Ministry of the Environment, Territory and Housing participated in the lifting act, Angeles Vazquez, who pointed out that the public administrations have the mission of promoting tourism in conditions of total security. “This summer, more than ever, we must ensure that the places that have received this badge, the beaches, the ports … are safe places,” said the minister.

In this sense, Ángeles Vázquez pointed out that the city councils – and in this specific case, those responsible for the Real Club Náutico de A Coruña – must take all the necessary precautions to guarantee maximum hygiene, the safety distance between users and adequate occupation. to avoid eventual agglomerations.

The councilor recalled that Galicia maintains its position in the national classification of blue flags receiveds for Galician beaches, with 107 (the same as in 2019), and which rise to 133 distinctions if the recognitions to beaches, marinas, classrooms and nature center are added.

Ángeles Vázquez also added that the Xunta de Galicia activated at the beginning of this month of July the beach viewer elaborated by the Institute for Territorial Studies (IET), a tool that can be useful at the municipal level since it includes data on the square meters of each sandy area, the state of the tides and even the location of all the blue flags granted by the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education in Galicia in this year 2020.
