The re-upgraded Porsche Macan is here! He wants to be sportier and more efficient

The best-selling model of the brand from Zuffenhausen arrives in a modernized form. It changed the look, interior and range of engines.

The Porsche Macan has been in production since 2014, but is not yet to be retired. It is still the best-selling model of the brand, so thanks to sustained sales success, another facelift is coming instead of the new generation, three years after the previous one. The modernized Macan can be ordered now, the first customers will see it at the beginning of October.

The stylistic adjustments are again decent, as is customary with Porsche. In any case, the modifications made were to sharpen the design of the car, specifically with a redesigned nose emphasizing the width of the body or with a new rear diffuser. There are also bigger wheels, nineteen are the standard today, even twenty-one for the Macan GTS. Basically, you also get dynamic LED headlights.

Changes in the cabin are related to today. The central novelty is the new control of the multimedia system with a 10.9 “screen, which instead of the traditional buttons is placed on the touch surfaces. Thanks to this, the interior should be visually cleaner.

The range of engines at the moment includes three derivatives. The basis is a model simply called the Macan with a two-liter four-cylinder boosted to 195 kW. The Macan S then replaced the existing three-liter single-turbo with a twice-supercharged 2.9 V6 engine known from the GTS version, which increased its output to 280 kW, 20 kW more than before. The Macan GTS then jumped to 324 kW in power, bringing it to the level of the previous one of the top Turbo, which dropped out of the menu. However, it is possible that he will return later, with new technology.

Porsche also promises extensive chassis modifications. The aim was to find the optimal combination of comfort and driving performance. Macan wants to offer more sensitive and direct reactions to the current driving situation, for example with the help of specially calibrated active suspension. This is available at an additional cost for the basic Macan, but is already standard for stronger versions.

It is Macan GTS that now differs more significantly from other derivatives. It now has a standard sports air suspension with a 10 mm lowered chassis, which is also 10% stiffer at the front and 15% stronger at the rear.

The Porsche Macan has sold over 600,000 units since its launch. It also has a special role for the brand in that 80% of its owners are new to Porsche. In addition, it attracts a lot of female clients, for example in China, almost 60% of buyers are women.

Thanks to these successes Porsche is also preparing a new generation with electric drive. It will arrive in 2023, but the existing version with conventional engines is to be sold alongside it.
