After the victory of the German Max Günther (BMW i Andretti Motorsport) Saturday, Formula E is already back on the tarmac in Brooklyn (New York) this Sunday for the eleventh round of season 7 of the World Championship in the discipline. Brilliant in the two races contested three weeks ago in Puebla (Mexico) where he was on the podium twice (one victory, third place), the Swiss Edoardo Mortara (Venturi Racing) had a more complicated Saturday and was joined in first place in the standings (72 points) by the Dutchman Robin Frijns (Virgin Racing).
Little to his business during the last five E-Prix (three withdrawals, a seventh place, a thirteenth place), Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team) has dropped to tenth place in the standings (54 points), but the Belgian driver intends to take advantage of the second New York E-Prix to move up the hierarchy.
The winner of the second E-Prix de Rome will have the “advantage” of starting in the second of the four qualifying groups, which will allow him to benefit from a better track during the qualifying session.
After this double header New Yorker, the Formula E World Championship will head to London (24-25 / 07) then Berlin (14-15 / 08), where the first World Champion in the history of the discipline will be crowned.
