The kidnappers take refuge in Friedberg-Dorheim. A WZ editor and columnist become detectives. Author Thorsten Fiedler makes it exciting in his new thriller ‘Arrest Warrant’.

This has never happened before: an editor of the Wetterauer Zeitung becomes a detective – in the middle of Dorheim. A criminal gang is hiding in the Friedberg district. Coincidentally, columnist Jürgen Komm notes the “foreign data”. How immediately attracts the attention of his friend and publisher Jürgen Wagner (»jw«). Unwittingly, they become detectives and find themselves in danger: a hostage situation, drugs, revenge and gunshots.

This all comes from the new thriller ‘Arrest Order’ and was written by Thorsten Fiedler. Ever since his first Offenbach thriller »Schlusspfiff«, he has been known for having real people appear in his books by him and for letting the scenes take place in real places. Now he is criminalistic for the first time in the Wetterau. »Arrest warrant« is sounded first in Offenbach and then in Friedberg-Dorheim.

For Fiedler’s commissioner Adi Hessberger and his colleague Sina Fröhlich, things get really dangerous and very exciting in this thriller. “You never know what’s going to happen, there are ups and downs in my new book,” says Fiedler.

So far, his thrillers »Schlusspfiff« (volume 1), »Nachspielzeit« (volume 2) and »Abseits« (volume 3) have mostly been set in Offenbach. A lot revolved around the Offenbacher Kickers environment, the stadium and the OFC.

Fiedler is a “real Offenbach boy”, as he puts it, but he has been working at Friedberg for years. “So I could not go beyond the city from a literary point of view,” says the author. And since he has known Jürgen Wagner and Jürgen Komm for a long time, they became the protagonists of »Arrest Warrant«.

The title also has something to do with the next real person, namely with the rapper “Arrest Order”, who plays a decisive role in the thriller. There is also Maik Vetter, a well-known OFC player. »I ask everyone if they would like to appear in my books. But no one is allowed to read before publication, Fiedler says.

His new thriller has just been published by the »Main Book« publishing house of the publisher Gerd Fischer, who comes from Altenstadt. In “Arrest Warrant” it becomes very exciting, brutal at times and quite exciting. “But I can’t be too harsh on the characters, my readers wouldn’t forgive me,” the author is convinced. But the tension must be: in “Arrest Warrant” Adi Hessberger and Sina Fröhlich find themselves in very dangerous situations.

The starting point is a failed drug deal in Offenbach. The criminal gang flees in their car, crashing into the walls of the Albert Schweizer school in Offenbach. The rapper »Arrest warrant« and the footballer Vetter are guests there, who tell young people about their lives during a theme day. The gang takes two students, two teachers and the two “celebrities” hostage at the school and flee in the direction of Dorheim. There they holed up in an empty house and shots were fired. The “detectives” Jürgen Wagner and Jürgen Komm hear this and begin to investigate. With their tips, Hessberger and Fröhlich are able to track down Dorheim.

Fröhlich and Hessberger are now lovers, become parents in the current thriller. “This brings the case and the emotions to a climax,” says the author, but he doesn’t want to reveal more.

To make everything feel very authentic, Fiedler has support for his detective stories. A prosecutor friend reads his texts, the doctors of the Kettler hospital in Offenbach advise the author, and he himself returned to the Albert Schweizer school on “arrest warrant”. “My wife, I, and our kids went to this high school,” says Fiedler. But he wanted to see how it looks there now and pay attention to the innovations. What are the changing rooms, corridors or some rooms like? “The details need to be right,” says the author.

That’s why he took a close look at the empty buildings and surroundings of Dorheim, so that he can describe exactly where Jürgen Wagner and Jürgen Komm are investigating and it looks as authentic as possible when WZ editor and columnist become detectives .
