The process of transferring flights from Halim Airport begins, here are the details

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II as the manager of Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport has begun to carry out the scenario of moving flight operations to 5 receiving airports (recipient), on Saturday (22/1/2022)

The move was in line with the temporary closure of Halim Airport starting January 26, 2022 in the context of revitalization.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the flight operational transfer scenario was formulated by the Operation Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) team formed by AP II.

“ORAT Team together stakeholder including the Ministry of Transportation, Regional I Airport Authority Office, AirNav Indonesia, airline, and ground handling We have been preparing the displacement scenario since about two months ago,” he said in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday (23/1/2022).

The five receiving airports are Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Tangerang), Husein Sastranegara Airport (Bandung), Kertajati Airport (Majalengka), Pondok Cabe Airport (Jakarta), and Budiarto Airport (Tangerang).

Awaluddin said a total of 21 flight operators consisting of 2 scheduled commercial airlines, 17 non-scheduled commercial airlines and 2 cargo airlines, with a total fleet of 67 aircraft, plus 12 military aircraft that will switch operations.

Meanwhile, Director of Operations and Service of AP II Muhamad Wasid explained that non-scheduled commercial airlines from Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport were moved to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Pondok Cabe Airport and Budiarto Airport.

“Flight safety and security facilities at the receiving airport are ensured to be able to handle fleet movements, taking into account facilities such as: runway, apron, dan taxiway,” explained Muhammad Wasid.

Furthermore, the implementation of the operational transfer of 3 Air Squadron (Skadud) military flights is planned for January 24-25, 2022. Squadud 17 will move to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, while Skadud 2 and Skadud 31 will go to Husein Sastranegara Airport.

The scheduled transfer of commercial airlines (Citilink and Batik Air) on January 25, 2022 is planned to still be carried out from Halim Airport, while the arrival of a number of destinations to Halim Airport will be transferred to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

Kertajati Airport (Majalengka) is prepared to support the transfer of cargo aircraft placement, placement of RON aircraft (Remain Over Night), charter flights, and Touch and Go Military activities.

“AP II will ensure that the operational shift scenario can run smoothly. Airlines “We are asked to also inform passengers regarding operational transfers from Halim Airport to the receiving airport,” he said.
