The probable formations of Italy-Spain: doubts in attack for Mancini and Luis Enrique

The European champions return to the field. And they do it to play for another trophy. In the evocative setting of a sold out San Siro, albeit at 50% of capacity following the anti-covid rules, Roberto Mancini’s national team will play the Nations League semifinal against Spain. This evening will be a remake of the penultimate act of Euro2020 staged at Wembley, exactly three months ago, with Luis Enrique’s national team ready to avenge the defeat on penalties that earned the Azzurri the qualification for the last act against the ‘England. The winner of this challenge will await, on Sunday evening again in Milan, the winner of France-Belgium on stage tomorrow in Turin while whoever loses will face on Sunday afternoon again at the Allianz Stadium.

HOW ITALY ARRIVES – Doubt in attack for Roberto Mancini. The absence of Immobile and Belotti forces the Italian coach to redesign the attack. Possible the use of Insigne as a false nine, Chiesa on one side and Pellegrini on the other or with one between Kean and Raspadori center-forward with the Napoli striker who would return to the left and the Juventus winger to play for the place from the first minute with the captain of Roma. In midfield there should be no doubts with Jorginho playmaker and Barella and Verratti mezzali. In defense in front of Donnarumma there will be Bonucci and Chiellini with Di Lorenzo on the right and Emerson Palmieri on the left.

HOW SPAIN ARRIVES – Luis Enrique should field his team with the traditional 4-3-3. In goal there will be Unai Simon with Azpilicueta who will take the right lane, Marco Alonso ahead of Reguilon on the left while the central couple will be formed by Eric Garcia and Laporte. Sergio Busquets will act in the control room with Koke on one side and Mikel Merino on the other. In attack there will be neither Gerard Moreno nor Morata with the coach of the Red Furies who should also use the false center forward with Oyarzabal favored over Ferran Torres, who will instead occupy the left lane. To complete the trident there will be Sarabia.
