VENEZIA “Sissy was killed,” she said. But the Prosecutor of Venice did not believe her and now an ex-prisoner from the Giudecca prison will be tried for slander. The “crime” of the penitentiary policewoman, who has been dividing public opinion for nearly four years, thickens: on the one hand, those who say that it was a simple, albeit tragic, suicide, including the Lagoon Prosecutor, who twice asked for the filing of the investigation; on the other who – in primis family and friends – instead claims that that morning of November 1, 2016, inside an elevator of the civil hospital of Venice, Maria Teressa «Sissy» Found Mazza was not alone, but in the company of a murderer who would have shot in the head, reducing it to a deep coma from which she never woke up until the death of January 12, 2019 to even thirty years.

The next hearing
Next July 23, in front of the investigating judge Barbara Lancieri – who had ordered new investigations a couple of years ago – there will be a hearing on the case: according to prosecutor Elisabetta Spigarelli, no elements emerged that would overturn the thesis of suicide, but the family is ready to oppose for the umpteenth time, even bringing the results of an inspection made at the end of 2019 in the elevator with a stunt douche, from which it would have emerged the impossibility that in the shot the victim had not got his sleeves dirty.

The parallel murder investigation
In the meantime, however, in recent months, under investigation, a parallel investigation had developed with the hypothesis of murder. Everything stems from the revelations of a prisoner, who had made friends with Sissy. The latter would repeatedly confide in her to complain about how she was treated by the colleagues and the leaders of the prison, because of her complaints about the drug introduction hypothesis and a sexual relationship between a colleague and a prisoner. But above all, the woman would have witnessed three episodes that shocked her: in the first she had heard a prison officer, who was chatting with her colleague surprised to have sex, saying “I’ll take care of Sissy”; then she had found out from Found Mazza, who had come to work with bruises on her neck, which both had attacked her; Finally, on the day of the tragedy, the same agent was on duty in the morning with Sissy, then she was gone and had returned red and upset.

Revelations that have remained secret
All this had never revealed it until, last November, he had a disagreement with that agent for a futile reason. But at a certain point the inmate had said to her “if I speak I will explode a bomb”, causing an unexpected reaction in the other: according to her story, in fact, she would have started crying asking not to mention her name. Then there would have been a similar episode, in January, during which she would have admitted that since Sissy had died “I no longer sleep and I think I’m going to kill myself”, to the point that the ordinance pistol was also removed for a period. The investigations of prosecutor Spigarelli, however, have not found anything on this hypothesis and for this reason the Prosecutor has decided to challenge the slander, the crime of someone who accuses someone even though he knows he is innocent. His defense will be to say that he had not accused anyone, but only said what he had seen and heard.
