Gas in Europe rises in price at the end of the week

The cost of the February futures exceeded $1,120 per thousand cubic meters. The price rose by 11%.

The cost of gas at auction in Europe on Friday, January 14, increased by 11%.

Thus, the February futures price at the TTF hub in the Netherlands rose to $1,121 per 1,000 cubic meters, or €94.5 per MWh.

Recall that on December 31, natural gas prices dropped below the $800 mark for the first time since November 10.

At the same time, for ten days, when on December 21 the historical almost $2200 record per thousand cubic meters, the price of gas fell by almost three times.
