The municipal crane of Madrid withdrew a total of 44,114 vehicles in 2017. This quantity of automobiles supposed a collection of 6 and a half million euros for the price of the deposit withdrawal. The data offered by the City Council on the withdrawal of vehicles so far in 2018 only comes until the end of June. However, a total of 21,609 automobiles in just half a year, which means raising more than 3 millions. If these data are only from Madrid, how much will be collected at the national level?
Associated European Motorists (AEA) has made a report with prices by province capital, since it is not the same to remove the car from the deposit in Barcelona than in Malaga. The association also includes in the report the price of the vehicle stay in the tank.
The provincial capital with the withdrawal price higher is Saragossa. Taking the car out of the deposit in this town costs 180 euros, six times more than in Zamora, the cheapest capital. The Aragonese capital is followed Saint Sebastian, with a price of 154 euros, and Valencia, where it costs 151.79 euros. Closing the list, there are Ávila (48.90 euros), Melilla (42) and Zamora (30).
24-hour notice period
If the crane removes a vehicle, the Road Safety Law dictates that the owner must be notified within 24 hours. However, from the time the car enters the warehouse until it is collected, the owner must pay the automobile stay. This price also varies depending on the location. For example, San Sebastián is the provincial capital with the highest price. The cost per day is 33.02 euros. It is followed by A Coruña (31.36), Zaragoza (25.35), Toledo (22.80) and Soria (22.71).

To the 3 million that have been raised in Madrid so far this year for the service of the crane, we must add what the deposit stay (19.20 euros). If the 21,609 recalled vehicles had remained in the warehouse for at least one day, the Madrid City Council would have obtained 414,892.80 euros more.
