The Pretext of Retaliating the Humiliation of Prophet Muhammad When ISIS Attacked Sikh Temples

Polemic statements of Indian politicians Nupur Sharma which is considered insulting the Prophet Muhammad SAW is not over yet. Nupur Sharma’s statement has now been used as a pretext for the deadly attack.

The incident took place at a Sikh temple in Kabul, Afghanistan. The radical Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

Two people died in the attack. One of them is a Taliban fighter.

As reported AFPMonday (20/6/2022), ISIS called the attack as retaliation for the insult of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Nupur Sharma is a spokesman for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which houses the Prime Minister (PM) of India, Narendra Modi. Nupur Sharma’s controversial remarks about the Prophet Muhammad sparked protests in a number of Muslim countries.

In a message posted via the propaganda website Amaq, ISIS claimed that the attacks launched on Saturday (19/6) local time targeted Hindus and Sikhs, and the “apostates” who protected them.

“In an act of supporting the Messenger of Allah,” ISIS said in a statement.

It also said that one of its fighters “pierced a Hindu and Sikh polytheistic temple in Kabul, after killing its guards, and opened fire with machine guns and hand grenades”.

Two people were reported dead and about seven others were injured.
