The President of the Storting’s lawyer believes that the election of a new president must be postponed

Eva Kristin Hansen wanted to resign as President of the Storting because she assumed she was under police investigation. Now the police deny that she is. – The Storting should postpone the question of changing president now, says lawyer John Christian Elden.

It is expected that Eva Kristin Hansen will have a new successor as President of the Storting this week.

Storting President Eva Kristin Hansen (Labor Party) announced that she would resign last week. It happened after the revelation that she got a commuter home for several years at the same time as she owned a house in Ski outside Oslo.

Hansen said that she chose to resign after the Oslo police opened an investigation into the commuter housing cases. She had then held the position of President of the Storting for five weeks.
