The premiere of Rēzija Kalniņa’s production ‘Now and Then’ is expected

The music and drama room “OratoriO” is currently producing a play “Now and Then” by the American author Sean Grenan. Its director is Rēzija Kalniņa, but the premiere is expected on October 30, at 19:00, the representative of “OratoriO” informed.

Theater theaters have already been able to see productions of two Grenan plays – “Make God Laugh” and “Tin Woman” – directed by Rēzija Kalniņa, which have been in the repertoire of Daile Theater for a long time.

Sean Grenan’s play “Now and Then” is a story of human will, choice and love through the years, pondering the question of who is ultimately what determines our destiny.

“You are approaching 30, 40, 50, 60… What is it that you would like to tell yourself when you were 15, 20, 30, 40? What is it that guides our desires, choices and wills? And do we finish can we determine our destiny? Is something already written in the hologram and we are just performers? What is the crossroads and at what point? Can we choose? Has the choice already taken place? ” director Rēzija Kalniņa comments on the upcoming production.

Cast: Esmeralda Ermale, Jana Herbsta or Ilze Trukšāne, Raimonds Celms or Maksims Busels, Jānis Skanis or Juris Kalniņš. Costumes and scenography – “OratoriO” creative group. The play was translated from English by Voldemārs Rode.

Rēzija Kalniņa graduated from the Faculty of Theater and Film Actors of the Latvian State Conservatory, later continued her education at the Department of Directing. She has received various awards (“Kristaps Lielais” in the nominations “Best Supporting Actress” and “Best Cinema Actress”, Gamers’ Night Award for Best Young Actress and several nominations in the category “Best Actress”) for participation in performances at Daile Theater, films and TV productions. She has performed and performed at the Dzintari Concert Hall, M. Chekhov’s Russian Theater, the Latvian National Theater, the Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, the Daile Theater and the Latvian Puppet Theater. In 2014, he was nominated for the Golden Mask Award for Leonard Bernstein’s “Mesu”.

“OratoriO” is a new art platform or music and drama space, created jointly by actress and director Rēzija Kalniņa and conductor Ainārs Rubiķis. OratoriO is located in the art and technology quarter “Sporta 2”.
