The regulated parking areas in Madrid and the parking meters will be activated again from next Monday, June 1, the mayor announced this morning. The SER (regulated parking service) zone was suspended due to the state of alarm and the confinement of the population and stopped working on Monday, March 16. The municipal government has made the decision with the city phase 1 of the de-escalation since Monday and with the decree of the state of alarm still in force.

José Luis Martínez-Almeida has made this announcement at the presentation of the new network of bus lanes in the capital, which will have 37 new sections with a total of 45 new kilometers, representing an increase of 30% from the current , which cover 148 kilometers.

“From Monday the SER will resume for both green and blue squares,” said the councilor, who has appealed to the use of public transport and, in this sense, has ensured that next Monday the fleet will also be 100% of buses of the Municipal Transport Company (EMT)
