The National Hockey League (NHL) team “Florida Panthers” has agreed with the striker Alexander Barkov on an impressive extension of the contract, reports “The Athletic”.
With the 2022/2023 season, 26-year-old Finnish hockey player Barkov will have an eight-year contract for 80 million US dollars. Last season, Barkov spent an average of 21 minutes in 50 matches on the court, scored 26 goals, returned 32 assists and won 54.9% of the throw-in.
The center’s striker will spend the last six years of his previous contract this season, during which he was paid $ 35.4 million. After this season, the captain of the Panthers would have become a limited free agent.
Tampere’s Tappara student Barkov has only represented the Panthers in the NHL, scoring 181 goals in 529 games and scoring 284 assists. Last season, he received a prize named after Frank Selke, which is presented to the best defensive striker.
