The Pamplona Region announces subsidies to promote the use of the taxi

The Commonwealth of the Pamplona Region promotes a public call for subsidies to promote the use of the taxi service

The objective of these grants is to improve the quality of the service and promote its use.

Specifically, it is intended to promote the modernization of the Pamplona taxi, adapting it to technical advances that allow the promotion of the use of ecological vehicles, the improvement of safety elements and the improvement in the provision of the taxi service to people with disabilities, has reported the Commonwealth on a note.

The budgets for the subsidies are 42,000 euros for the improvement of the service to people with disabilities, 10,000 euros for ecological vehicles and 18,000 euros for the technological and safety improvement.

The call is derived from the Strategic Subsidy Plan approved by resolution of the Presidency of the Commonwealth for the years 2020 to 2022.

Grant lines

The purpose of the aid aimed at improving the taxi service for people with disabilities is to establish an economic compensation mechanism for license holders of vehicles adapted to transport users in wheelchairs.

Said compensation covers part of the expenses of the holders for a greater ’empty’ journey by having to make longer journeys to pick up the user.

The deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2020.

On the other hand, in the strategic line of promoting ecological vehicles, only passenger cars that taxi license holders have acquired or intend to acquire from December 1, 2019 to October 31, 2020 may be subject to a subsidy .

The call includes ‘Zero Emissions’ and ‘ECO’ vehicles according to the detailed classification of the Vehicle Registry of the General Directorate of Traffic.

A subsidy of up to 2,500 euros is established for all taxis whose classification is ‘Zero Emissions’ or, in the case of vehicles adapted for wheelchairs, those that have the ‘ECO’ label and are not powered by diesel fuel.

In the case of the rest of the ‘ECO’ taxis not powered by diesel fuel, the maximum subsidy will be 750 euros.

The deadline for submitting applications for this line will end on October 31, 2020.

Finally, in the subsidy for the improvement of the security and technological elements of the taxi, funding of up to 500 euros per license is established for the installation of various security elements such as partitions, rammers, GPS locators, etc. conducted from December 2019 to October 31, 2020.

These means will be duly approved and in the case of GPS-locating devices, at a minimum, they must allow communication-connection in case of accidents or serious incidents with a receiving center.
