The Pablo Gargallo museum debuts on social networks

The Pablo Gargallo Museum is opening, since has profiles in the main social networks -Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and Youtube-, with the aim of disseminating through them all their news and bring to users the figure of the Aragonese sculptor.

Until now, all the information related to this space was integrated into the Zaragoza Museums social networks, but now acquires a greater entity and personality of its own. With the new profiles – @ museopablogargallo on Facebook, Instagram and @MuseoGargallo on Twitter, in addition to YouTube-, the museum will report on the activities and exhibitions scheduled, as explained by the Zaragoza City Council.

The accounts have been conceived as tools to bring the works of Pablo Gargallo closer to the general public. Within the reach of a single click, users can learn about the history of the Great ‘Prophet’, the sculpture that greets visitors at the entrance of the museum, or learn about the artistic style of the Aragonese sculptor, characterized by the introduction of emptiness in works built with metal sheets. In addition, they provide useful information such as hours and days of opening.

Through photos and small videos, they can also discover all the secrets of works as ‘Small naked torso’ or ‘Romántica II’, as well as the enclosure in which the museum is located. It’s found in the palace of the Counts of Argillo, the building designed by Juan de Mondragón which is succeeded in turn by Felipe Busignac y Borbón from 1660.

Exhibition space

The exhibition space opens its doors in July 1985, and since then, it continues to grow to complete and improve the representation of the different periods, techniques, trends and themes of the work of one of the most important and innovative sculptors of the twentieth century. Now, this work will be reinforced thanks to the use of social networks.

With its launch, the museum also aims to encourage citizen participation, proposing activities such as the musical piece ‘Little sailor with a pipe’, by rapper Kase.O, dedicated to the sculptor or the Hall scape ‘Enigma Gargallo’, a police mystery game set in the 80s that can be enjoyed again from the month of November.
