The owner of Pardubice remembers the time when the club was written off. Now he’s enjoying himself, he revealed other plans

Pardubický must like the view of the extra league table at the moment. The club was helped by hiring Lukáš Sedlák from overseas, and the trade that brought in Tomáš Vondráček also worked out. “I had my eye on that for a long time. He is an excellent cabin boy, honest and plays the underdog well. I’m glad we made this exchange,” says Dědek.

And what about Lukáš Sedlák? “A difference player, one of the best centers that our national team has, that is, from those who do not play regularly in the NHL. I’m glad that the extra league got him and the younger players will learn something from him,” the boss of the extra league leader evaluates the second of the signings. In Příklep, he admitted that he is counting on one more trade and a small addition. “The season will still be long, injuries are coming, they are here diseases, so the cadre must be broad.”

At what position will Dynamo still look for reinforcements? Journalist Martin Kézr tried to find an answer to that. “I think it will be a defender. One creative back would help Pardubice, but where to take and not steal. It’s not easy on the player market, there weren’t many classic trades either,” points out the hockey expert. He emphasizes that Hradec Králové was the most active in terms of player exchanges. “And Mladá Boleslav was forced to do so by circumstances – for God’s sake, let’s do something,” says Kézr.

Grandpa explains how the clubs have it with trades. “There are two subtexts. Trades refer to players who are out of contract, so clubs don’t want to keep them. Or it’s about players who need to revive. In the short term or until the end of the season. It’s normal that it comes in January and the coaches try to revive the players,” confides the businessman standing at the head of the club.

Both guests of the Příklep show agree that clubs must be careful when the extra league is balanced. For example, from ninth place downwards, he foresees that clubs may have worries. “It’s no joke. It is reminiscent of the situation in Pardubice when Petr Dědek took office, they were soaked there. However, it was possible to bring in players at the end of January who woke up the team and stepped into it. What looked like it might end in relegation ended well,” Kézr assesses.

And businessman Dědek admits that, in addition to good reinforcements, Pardubice also had a big clique, that it went well with the retention of the extra league. “It was lucky then, it could have ended in failure,” the owner of Dynamo realizes. “Kladno had a series of losses then. We brought in Vondrka, Tomáš Rolinek returned, we made Robert Kousal. He had an offer from Finland and did not leave. He said that he stays because he believes that we will be able to achieve our goal, even though we were losing twelve points and everyone said that it was already over for Pardubice.”
