The Covid outbreak inside the Cardarelli di Campobasso continues to expand dramatically. After the 30 infections ascertained in surgery, this afternoon, Wednesday 13 January, further positives emerged in the Medicine department.
Yesterday 4 cases were found and therefore swabs were carried out on all patients and staff of the ward. After 14 today the reports arrived: 5 more patients and another nurse were positive. In addition to another nurse, 2 doctors and 9 patients who were supported in surgery. Therefore the total of positives in the medical department should be 22. To these must be added those of surgery.
The photograph of the infections refers to last night when the swabs were carried out, but it cannot be excluded that the cluster could expand because in any case the patients who tested positive were in the room with others.
In short, an increasingly complicated situation as regards the Cardarelli di Campobasso that we remember is both the only Covid hospital in the region, and a regional hub for time-dependent illnesses.
