The operator of the gas transmission system announced the manipulation of Gazprom

Since October 1, Gazprom has reduced gas transit to 86 million cubic meters, although it pays for 109 million

Gazprom often does not use transit capacities that have already been paid for. And not only in Ukraine, but also in other countries, Sergei Makogon noted.

Russian monopoly Gazprom has cut gas transit through Ukraine three times this year. Therefore, the statements of the Russian leadership about the alleged increase in supplies are manipulative. The head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator Sergey Makogon wrote about this on his page in Facebook Friday 15 October.

According to him, Gazprom cut gas transit from January 1 – from 186 million cubic meters to 124 million cubic meters per day, from September 1 – to 109 million cubic meters, and from October 1 – to 86 million cubic meters, although it pays for 109 million cubic meters.

Makogon also noted that Gazprom often does not use transit capacities that have already been paid for. And not only in Ukraine, but also in other countries, for example, in Slovakia.

“The statements of the Russian leadership on increasing transit through Ukraine in 2021 are manipulative in nature. It should be noted that the current contract does not provide for the annual transportation of 40 billion cubic meters, but for the daily transportation of 109 million cubic meters. Now physically much less is transported – 85.9 million cubic meters per day. “- wrote Makogon.

In his opinion, this behavior of Gazprom deserves special attention in Europe against the background of rising exchange prices.

“Ukraine is ready to transport additional significant volumes of gas that exceed the capacity of Nord Stream 2,” summed up the head of the GTS Operator.

We will remind, on October 13, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin saidthat in 2021 the supply of Russian gas through Ukraine will exceed the obligations under the long-term contract by 10%. At the same time, he added that the Ukrainian gas transportation system “may burst completely.”
