Ukraine’s defense capability was discussed at the President’s Office with representatives of NATO countries

Representatives from Ukraine, USA, Canada, Germany, Lithuania, Poland and Great Britain discussed Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Roman Mashovets and representatives of NATO member states, in particular the United States, Canada, Germany, Lithuania, Poland and Great Britain, held virtual talks on Thursday, April 15. About it informed press service of the OP.

So, during the conversation, the parties discussed the aggravation of the situation in the east of Ukraine and the buildup of military forces by Russia near the Ukrainian border and in the annexed Crimea.

At the same time, Mashovets told the interlocutors about the transfer of electronic warfare equipment capable of covering the territory of Ukraine and partially – of individual NATO member countries.

“He (the deputy head of the OP – ed.) Also outlined several possible scenarios for further actions of the Russian Federation, which may include pressure on Ukraine and Western partners, distracting the attention of the Russian population from the internal problems of the Russian Federation and possible military provocations against Ukraine,” the message says.

At the same time, Mashovets said that Ukraine is ready to rebuff each of the scenarios listed.

Also during the conversation, the representative of Ukraine told the advisers of the NATO member states about the state and prospects of reforming the Ukrainian defense sector, about the development of the territorial defense forces and about a new bill that should resolve these issues, taking into account modern challenges and threats.

In turn, the USA, Canada, Germany, Lithuania, Poland and the UK expressed their unwavering support for Ukraine and shared their experience in optimizing military management and creating an effective territorial defense system.

We will remind, on April 12, Mashovets during a meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine Tobias Tyberg said that the number of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine will soon double.
