When The Conjuring was released in theaters in the summer of 2013, at first glance the film seemed like one of many haunted house stories. Probably not even director James Wan thought back then that with the horror of the Conjuring he would be laying the foundation for the most successful horror franchise ever.
Ten years later, The Conjuring has become an entire universe that has not only spawned several sequels and spin-offs. There are now even sequels to the spin-offs! A remarkable success story that receives another chapter with The Nun II. The horror hit is now showing in cinemas.
After The Conjuring and Co.: The most successful horror universe continues in the cinema with The Nun 2
The Nun II takes place four years after the events of the first part. The young sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) teaches at a boarding school in the French provinces. Everything could be beautiful and peaceful. But then the nasty demon Valak returns, appearing in the form of an extremely creepy nun.

One of the reasons the Conjuring universe is so profitable is its modest budgets. So far, none of the films have cost more than $40 million.
If the franchise’s numbers remain stable, we can look forward to many more spin-offs. The next film, The Conjuring: Last Rites, is already in the works. In addition, there have been repeated rumors in the past that the Conjuring universe could be expanded into a series.
