Cryptocurrencies have been a big topic lately due to their significantly rising price. This can be seen in the unavailability of graphics cards as well as in the significantly growing user bases of cryptocurrency exchanges and other systems that allow trading in cryptocurrencies. One of them is the application Robinhood, which issued a report on the number of new users trading with them.
In 2020, an average of about 200,000 new users were added to the platform each month, with the highest peak being 401,000 new people per month. But even that is only a fraction of what began to happen at the beginning of this year. In January alone, around 3.2 million people started using the platform to trade in cryptocurrencies, and in less than February it was another 3 million. So during those two months, there were 6 million new traffickers with cryptocurrencies, while last year it was about 2.5 million for the whole year.
The average amount of the transaction also increased, which for most of last year was somewhere between 200 and 250 USD. It rose to over $ 300 in November and December, and even exceeded $ 500 in January 2021. Robinhood offers trading in cryptocurrencies Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, Dogecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Litecoin.
