The number of Covid-19 victims in the world exceeds 1.5 million
Paris. Dec 4, LETA – AFP. The number of Covid-19-related deaths worldwide exceeded 1.5 million on Thursday, while several countries planned to provide their populations with vaccines against the new coronavirus early next year.
New records were set for Covid-19 in several countries. In Italy, 993 people were infected with the new coronavirus in 24 hours on Thursday, a new one-day record.
In Iran, the worst affected by the new coronavirus in the Middle East, the number of infections has exceeded one million.
In the United States, the worst-hit country in the world, the United States recorded 2,731 deaths in 24 hours, the highest number since March. The number of Covid-19 hospitalizations in the United States exceeded 100,000 for the first time.
