INDRAMAYU, AYOCIREBON.COM – The number of Covid-19 cases in Indramayu Regency reached 119 cases. The number of patients who died had not stopped increasing.

Of the 10 new positive cases, 2 of them died. That way, a total of 9 cases died in Indramayu.

Meanwhile, 79 patients were declared recovered and 31 were still being treated at the hospital or in independent quarantine. Of the 31 cases still being handled, 8 were the most recent.

Spokesperson for the local Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, Deden Bonni Koswara, revealed that 5 out of 10 new cases were non-organic Pertamina employees from Karangampel District, Indramayu Regency.

“They conducted a swab examination on September 8, 2020 at Klayan Pertamina Hospital Cirebon,” said Deden who is also the Head of the Indramayu Regency Health Service.

On September 10, 2020, the results came out and confirmed they were positive. The patients undergo self-quarantine, except for one of them who died.

Deden said, the patient who died was a 54 year old man. He breathed his last at ES Tarakan, Jakarta, on September 10, 2020.

“All patients are self-isolating, except for those who have died. We are still collecting data on their close contacts,” he said.

Apart from non-organic Pertamina employees, an employee of a motorcycle dealer from Juntinyuat District, Indramayu Regency, was also confirmed positive and died. The 45-year-old male patient is known to have frequent contact with customers.

The patient entered Mitra Plumbon Hospital, Cirebon Regency, with complaints of shortness of breath and a history of heart disease on September 7, 2020. The results of the swab test that came out on the next 3 days confirmed that the patient was suffering from Covid-19.

“The patient passed away at Mitra Plumbon Hospital Cirebon on September 10. We traced his 4 close contacts,” he said.

Meanwhile, 2 other patients were also known to work at Pertamina, each a 39 year old man, a driver in Pertamina’s MOR 3 section and a 36 year old man who is an offshore employee of Pertamina in Kalimantan. Currently, both patients are undergoing self-quarantine.

Apart from them, there were also 2 new patients who were both experiencing symptoms. The first patient was a 60 year old housewife who complained of shortness of breath and weakness.

“The patient has entered the isolation room of Indramayu Hospital and his close contacts are still being collected,” he said.

Patient 2 is a 25 year old male who is self-employed. With complaints of fever for about 1 week, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, dry cough, runny nose and diarrhea, the patient underwent treatment at Bhayangkara Hospital, Indramayu Regency.

The patient was treated at a clinic in the South Jakarta area, before returning to Indramayu and entering the Aurel Losarang Clinic. Without any change in his health condition, his family took him to Bhayangkara Hospital.

“The patient then underwent a swab test and tested positive. Currently, he has entered the isolation room at Bhayangkara Hospital and we are still recording his close contact,” he explained.

Responding to the development of the Covid-19 case in Indramayu Regency, Deden again reminded anyone outside the home to wear a mask, wash their hands diligently, either using running water provided in various places or carrying hand sanitizer, to keep a distance from other people.
