Prague – The number of cases of covid-19 in the Czech Republic exceeded 12,000. So far, 52 of them have been added to 12,006. The increase slowed down further compared to the previous days, the increase until the early evening is about half today compared to Tuesday. For the whole of Tuesday, 149 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the Czech Republic, which was at least in five days. Most of them were detected again in the Moravian-Silesian Region, where there is an outbreak of the disease and they are being tested in a targeted manner. It follows from data Ministry of Health to today 17:30.

It exceeded the twelve thousand limit of the number of covid-19 cases after four months. The first three cases in the Czech Republic were confirmed on March 1. At the turn of March and April, the daily increase in cases exceeded 300 on some days, and the restrictions on public life imposed by the government slowed down the increase. One daily increase of over 300 also appeared at the end of June, but according to epidemiologists, it was just targeted testing in OKD’s coal mines.

About two-thirds of the infected have been treated so far, 7,797 people. 349 people died with covid-19, 3860 people are now ill. The proportion of infected people out of a total of 4317 tested fell to 3.45 percent on the last day of June. Like the daily increase, it is the lowest in the last five days.

The most affected region is now Karviná. In the last seven days, there are about 279 infected per 100,000 inhabitants. In the neighboring district of Frýdek-Místek, there are more than 38 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants, while in Prague this is about five cases. It is in the districts of Karviná and Frýdek-Místek that veils in public transport and in all buildings outside the residence are still mandatory, and visits to retirement homes or medical facilities are also prohibited. As of today, most people in the Czech Republic no longer have to wear veils; in Prague, the obligation remained in the metro and more than 100 participants at internal mass events.

Among the tested employees of the ČSM-Sever and ČSM-Jih mines of OKD in the Karviná region, approximately 17 percent are positive. “The share is high. Not all tests have been evaluated yet, so it is possible that there will be more positive ones,” Petr Kopřivík from the Regional Hygiene Station (KHS) in Ostrava told ČTK on Tuesday. However, according to hygienists, most of those infected are completely asymptomatic.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, laboratories have detected 3,010 cases of coronavirus among people from the Moravian-Silesian Region. It is followed by Prague with 2527 cases and the Central Bohemian Region, where so far there have been 1223 confirmed cases of the disease. Thus, there are about 251 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants in the Moravian-Silesian Region during the entire epidemic, and over 190 people per 100,000 inhabitants in the capital.

One person has died with the covid-19 in the last five days. However, these data may still change. In most infected people, the disease is mild. As of Tuesday, 130 people had been hospitalized with coronavirus, 12 of whom were in severe condition.
