The number of active corona cases in Suriname continues to fall

Again, the number of corona cases has dropped significantly. This is evident from the update of the counter on Sunday official COVID-19 website. The total number of active cases fell from 229 Saturday to 138 on Sunday. There are also ‘only’ 14 new cases.

At the moment there are still 66 people in the hospital, 6 of which are in an ICU. A week ago this was 93. The total number of active cases was also almost 700.

Amar Ramadhin Minister of Health characterized this downward trend as positive because in medical care there is space and less pressure. The decisions previously announced by President Santokhi remain in force.

On Saturday, September 26, the government will meet again with the actors for the next evaluation. The figures on Sunday 20 September:
