Skoda begins what it calls the 2021 model year. Clearly a new vintage, which brings its share of evolutions for the whole range, except Citigo. Some changes are also transversal: by the end of the year, all the engines will be converted to the Euro 6d emission standard and the models will adopt a new flywheel, inspired by the one inaugurated by the last Octavia (which is slow to be sold in France), with chrome wheels. Most of the time, there will only be two branches (three for sports finishes).
By model, it is the Superb which is the subject of the most interesting developments, since it changes its muscular blocks. The 2.0 TDI is revised, going from 190 to 200 hp, and adopting an improved treatment of exhaust gases with technology known as double dosing: AdBlue is specifically injected into two catalytic converters arranged one after the other, reducing the nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions up to 80%. On the petrol side, the big 2.0 TSI goes from 272 to 280 hp. For equipment, the 360 ° vision inaugurated by the Superb plug-in hybrid arrives on the other models.
The big Kodiaq SUV also benefits from the evolution of the 2.0 TDI to 200 hp. In terms of equipment, it can receive a predictive cruise control, which uses the images of the camera on the windshield and the data from the navigation system to detect speed restrictions as well as turns and thus adjust the speed automatically. .
For the Karoq compact SUV, the update of the engines with the Euro 6d signals the end of the 1.6 TDI of 116 hp, replaced by a 2.0 TDI of 116 hp, also equipped with dual-dosage exhaust gas treatment. The 2.0 TDI 150 hp is also modified with this system. For the equipment, three innovations: the three-zone air conditioning, the 360 ° camera and the Trailer Assist, which helps to park with a trailer.
On the Fabia, Scala and Kamiq side, we will therefore have the Euro 6d update, but without any noticeable change in power. The Skoda city car, compact car and urban SUV will receive new optional rims and adopt an activated carbon filter which can remove allergens from the air.
