The Nice/New York airline celebrates its 30th anniversary thanks to Delta Air Lines

The Delta Air Lines airline linking Nice to New York (JFK) will reopen for the 30th consecutive year from March 27, 2022. Five weekly flights will be offered by the company. From May 2, daily trips will connect the Côte d’Azur to the United States, until October 27.

For 30 years, Nice and New York have been connected by plane by the American airline Delta Air Lines. This route is of economic importance for the Côte d’Azur. 35% of passengers travel for work. Beyond the tourists, the planes are also chartered for the transport of goods, in particular for the perfume which is exported on the other side of the Atlantic. In 2019, before the Covid crisis, 530,000 people traveled on this line. Delta Air Lines would like to regain its pre-pandemic capacity.

From March 27 to May 1, five weekly flights will be operated by Delta Air Lines. From May 2, flights will be daily. During the summer, passengers will travel aboard a Boeing 767 (238 seats) refurbished from the inside. Prices will start at 359 euros return for the main cabin and 1,727 euros for the delta one class (business class). The end of the summer line is scheduled for October 27, 2022.

Outside of these seven months, it is not possible to travel non-stop to New York from Nice. Connections are possible via Paris and Amsterdam. In the near future, Delta Air Lines would like to open the Nice/New York line all year round.

Delta Air Lines has invested heavily to achieve carbon neutrality for its flights. The American company based in Atlanta has spent 1 billion euros to develop less polluting fuels. The company promotes compensation projects such as planting trees or investing in green energy. The goal is to become the first carbon neutral airline by 2030.” We are convinced that it is not necessary to make a choice between discovering the world and saving it”explains Nicolas Ferri, vice-president of Delta Air Lines in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
