Sony ended its presentation on Wednesday night with an ever so small surprise – namely an unveiling of the next feature in the God of War series. You see the teaser at the top.
God of War: Ragnarok will be the name of the new game, and beyond that we know very little about the game, other than that it will be released for PlayStation 5 sometime in the new year.
Based on the title, we can also deduce that the next game will also be based on Norse mythology, and that Kratos will still be in northern latitudes – which is confirmed by the icy logo in the otherwise very sparse teaser.
Critics praised series
As before, it is also Sony-owned Santa Monica Studios that is behind the levers, the studio that has been behind all the titles in the main series so far.
The previous game in the series, which is simply called God of War, came out in 2018 to great cheers among reviewers. Here at the work, the game was awarded a full pot, 10 out of 10 points.
– God of War is not perfect, but you world for a masterful, adventurous, engaging, and powerful experience we have had. If you have had high hopes for this Norse story in Norwegian-inspired conditions led by the ghost from Sparta, just rejoice. God of War is back, stronger, deeper, and better than ever, our man wrote.
