The child was born with a spiral in his hand
The 34-year-old mother of the newborn baby decided to put on the intrauterine device two years ago.
- “After birth, I thought that the boy’s holding this item was interesting. I did not expect, however, that these photos would get such publicity.” – Mid Vietnamese Tran Viet Phuong told the local media who published the photos.

In a conversation with the media, the woman said that the spiral could move, which meant that it did not work properly. Staff reports suggest that an infant’s mother already has two children.
Unusual pictures of newborns
The case of Vietnam is not isolated. In recent years, the media has repeatedly reported the birth of children whose mothers used contraception.
In 2017, the child of Lucy Hellein and her husband was born. The woman had an IUD in August, and in December she discovered that she was pregnant. In an interview with the British daily Metro, Hellein confessed that it was the third time she had decided on this type of contraception. Earlier, the insert worked flawlessly.

The expectant mother was afraid of how the IUD could affect pregnancy. However, the doctors did not notice her during the ultrasound examination, so she was considered to have fallen out. When it came to a solution, amazed parents and medical staff saw the boy squeeze the insert in his fist. The newborn boy was named Dexter.
