The new SsangYong Torres was unveiled last spring in South Korea. The Asian brand started out the window by presenting its second electric model without being ready for marketing. These spy photos show that it still has a long way to go when it starts its development.

Despite the camouflage that it wears, the proportions and some of its aesthetic features are nailed to those of the production model.

SsangYong has taken care that not a detail is left in sight of an already known design, although the LED filament of the headlights that give a special personality is minimally visible, as are the additional projectors housed vertically at the ends of the defense. The upper grill has been hidden with a special piece, while in the lower part of the defense is the real cooling grille. Even a few centimeters above that a front camera can be seen.
Until the design of the vertical taillights matchso there are hardly any big differences with the Torres presented, beyond specific details on the front of this 100% electric version of the new Torres. And it is that the battery box is slightly visible below the side doors. The most obvious piece, since the other evidence is found in a sticker on the rear suspension beam with the internal code of the model, «U100».

And here yes there are big differences compared to the Torres presented, with a digital instrument display outside the visor. The zeal of the driver has prevented taking a closer look at the center console that remains covered, although it has some special features.
The new SsangYong Towers, positioned in the offer halfway between the Korando and the Rexton, uses the platform of the first, inheriting its architecture from the rear suspension. Although it will be offered with a gasoline version, it is not clear that it will land in Europe, but the electric one will. One option equipped with a BYD Blade battery, which will feed one or two electric motors, so it will be offered with front and all-wheel drive.
