For this year, the Kia Telluride SUV is the World Car of the Year – and for 2021, it could also be the new Škoda Octavia. This is shown by a preliminary list of candidates, which has just been published. Until December 1 this year, it may still change.

The list is relatively long, containing 23 entries, but some are double, for example in the case of the Citroën C4 and its electric version ë-C4 or the Toyota Yaris and Yaris Cross. Of course, not all cars are sold here, but many of them do, and we also tested a number. What are the chances of them winning, but we won’t speculate yet.

After the publication of the complete list of candidates in December, the expert jury will first select the finalists and then one winner will emerge from them. We should probably find out in early April next year. Here is the current complete list as found on the World Car of the Year website.
