The roof of the Lingotto in Turin has a new ‘green’ face. Last night, Wednesday 22 September, in the presence of John Elkann – president of Stellantis – and Bono Vox, frontman of the Irish rock group U2, the suggestive hanging garden, designed by the architect Camerana, along the historic track testing on top of the former factory renovated by Renzo Piano. This is the largest hanging area in Europe – 40 thousand plants belonging to 300 species and varieties -, a real green lung in the city, soon accessible to all, for doing sports but also for relaxing.
Together with the new suspended garden, also reachable from the famous helicoidal ramp, Casa 500 was also inaugurated, the new exhibition space, part of the museum complex of the Pinacoteca Agnelli presided over by Ginevra Elkann: 700 square meters that trace the culture and history of Italy and Turin that develop around the history of the 500. The 500 Red full electric was also presented, the first model born from the collaboration with Red, the charity foundation of Bono Vox, which was a surprise present at the event. The mayor of Turin, Chiara Appendino, also took part in the event: “An extra piece of green for Turin and for the citizens. A special thanks to Fiat for giving us this beautiful gift”.
