Grefrath / District of Viersen. District Administrator Dr. Andreas Coenen welcomes the new Chief Police Director Dietmar Maus.

On March 1st, District Administrator Dr. Andreas Coenen LPD Dietmar Maus as the new department head of the Viersen district police: “I am pleased that with you we have gained a competent and experienced person and police officer to manage our police force”, said Dr. Coenen at the greeting. “I am very pleased that, after many positions in a managerial position, I can now take over the management of the police in my home country. As a native of the Lower Rhine region, I am very familiar with the people and the structures in the district, ”said LPD Maus on his first day at work.

Dietmar Maus was born in Krefeld and has lived in Grefrath for over 30 years. In 1978 he joined the middle police service in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and in 1990 he successfully completed his studies in the higher-level enforcement service. In 2003 he finally graduated from the police command academy in Münster. Dietmar Maus then worked in various positions in the Ministry of the Interior and at the State Office for Central Police Services. LPD Maus gained international experience from 2006 to 2007 when he was involved in a leading position at the “United Mission in Kosovo” to rebuild the administrative structures for internal security in Kosovo.

Before moving to the district police, Dietmar Maus headed the Hazard Prevention / Operations Directorate at the Krefeld Police Headquarters and was in charge of it until the appointment of a new Police President in September 2020. Last Friday he was appointed Chief Police Director in the Ministry of the Interior. (ots)
