Already in November, Reggie Jackson had signed a superb statement to his teammate Nicholas Batum, calling the Frenchman a “superhero”. Episode 2 arrived yesterday after the Clippers lost in NY, with a nice new tirade from the back in tribute to ‘Batman’ on a question d’Antoine Bancharel (@TweetsAntoine).
“Nico is great. There’s no ‘bad day’ with him, you don’t worry about him, he’s a pro, on and off the pitch. He’s someone you can take inspiration from, I don’t have a family, I’m married to basketball (smile), but I see Nico, how he is with his children, how he is with his wife, his teammates… he knows how to prioritize things. He’s a pro. He’s someone you want to be like, a great veteran, someone who can take you further in your career. Nico is a super glue guy with his talent, which is unique, yes, tonight he defended against Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, he causes strong passages, takes in big shots one after the other. The guy comes and he does his job, he doesn’t need to have asslickers around or anything. You know he cares about you, he does things the right way and that’s what makes him so special and why I’m so grateful to have him as a teammate. I will follow this guy until the end, I’m just happy to be part of such a group. We know we’re going to support each other, and that’s why I like this team. Since his arrival last year, he has definitely helped change that in the dressing room for us. He brought that and no matter how long we play together we’ll remember that. » Reggie Jackson
