Despite the fact that the choice of crossovers in the Russian market is quite wide, there is practically nothing to choose with the amount of 2.3-2.7 million rubles from: Toyota RAV4 and Volkswagen Tiguan. The first is more expensive, and this is Toyota – if it’s “backlog” for a future sale, then the chances are better to sell after 3-4 odes (if the model is not with a CVT). The second one is, after all, a “purebred” VAG, not even a “Skoda” even, and cheaper than “Rafa” by 300 rubles. At the same time, cars with approximately equal dimensions and similar technical characteristics differ strikingly in design and, as motorists found out on the network, their purpose.
The new Toyota RAV4 is a 2.5-liter “turbo” with almost 200 hp. paired with a new 8-speed automatic, brutal massive “face” and softness – suspension, steering wheel, seats. At the same time, the suspension of the “German” is more “downed, the steering wheel is sharp, the car is“ frisky ”and unavailable, but it can“ shake ”on the roads.
With approximately the same amount of space in the cabin, the Volkswagen Tiguan trunk does not fit as much as the RAV4 can. This makes the VW Tiguan the choice of those who need a crossover for casual and dynamic city or highway driving, but without long trips with a lot of things.
Toyota RAV4, despite the advantage in power and the presence of an automatic transmission, loses Volkswagen Tiguan in dynamics, as well as comfort and controllability “on the bottoms” and at high speeds. Plus, a more pleasant price and “thoroughbred” “Vagovskaya” laconicism of design, and “Toyota” can become very difficult to “drive out” and further only due to a big name: “RAV4 is an ancient cart in comparison with Tiguan”, practical motorists are categorical.
